June 2025 Exhibition

Peter Boome

Join us for the Artist Reception June 27th, 2025 4pm-6pm

Peter Boome is a renowned Coast Salish artist from the Upper Skagit Tribe in Washington State, whose work is celebrated internationally for its vibrant storytelling and striking visual impact. Known primarily for his serigraph prints, Peter's art seamlessly blends traditional Coast Salish symbolism with contemporary techniques. His portfolio also includes award winning carvings, original paintings on canvas and large-scale public murals, which highlight themes of identity, spirituality, and the interconnection between people, animals, and the natural world. Through his work, Peter honors the cultural legacy of his tribe while sharing it with a global audience.
In addition to his artistry, Peter Boome is an accomplished attorney and judge, holding a law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a Master's in Environmental Studies from Evergreen State College. He serves as a judge in two leading Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts, where he integrates his legal expertise and cultural values to promote restorative justice and healing within Native communities. His work in both the arts and the legal field underscores his dedication to preserving indigenous traditions and creating positive change in his community. Peter is also deeply proud of the life he has built with his wife, Lois, and their four children—Kayla, Malena, Araquin, and Thayden—who are all members of the Puyallup Tribe. As a family, they share a strong cultural bond and a commitment to their heritage. Peter's personal and professional life reflects a deep respect for his roots, blending his roles as an artist, father, and community leader to leave a legacy that continues to inspire both his family and those who experience his work. http://www.araquindesigns.com/
