Fleeting Moments- A Retrospective Exhibit
Debbie Ranniger
Debbie’s journey through art began after a traumatic childhood experience. The loss of her brother became a defining moment in her life and, in time, the beginning of her relationship with art. She was encouraged by her 2nd grade teacher to process the grief through drawing. “I discovered a way to hold what felt fleeting: sorrow, memory, confusion, love, and the presence of someone who was gone. Art gave me a place to process experience, preserve moments, and make visible what was difficult to say.”
Debbie is a multidisciplinary artist working in more than one art mediums including: pencil, ink, watercolor and pastel. Today she works from observation, attention and emotion. She focuses on joy, uncertainty, sadness, surprise and beauty.

Denise Brooks
She is a self-taught/watercolor artist who discovered her passion for painting as a vibrant new chapter in a life rich with family travel. She is a Believer, a devoted wife of 46 years, proud mother of four, and"Mima" to 12 grandchildren.
Denise grew up in Alaska and lived across the United States before settling in Kent, Washington, where she resides with her husband, their cat, and the local wildlife. Inspired by her global travels and a deep love for nature, Denise specializes in bright, cheerful florals, gardens, landscapes, and seascapes. Her creative philosophy focuses entirely on joy and personal expression rather than rigid perfection. Patty McPhee
Patty feels that everything around her is connected such as wood and stone, two mediums she is inspired by. Working with these materials allows her to explore the dichotomy of creating softness, movement, and emotions in something that is considered hard and unyielding. She sees them as a way to explore “the interdependent web of existence”. One might consider this a juxtaposition of the two materials. Patty sees ideas all around her but is not always available to them. “There are times when the ideas swirl around and through me and other times when I am as empty as a deserted bird’s nest in fall.”
